The bridge will link Oxpens to Osney Mead, an area that the council and Nuffield College have big development plans for. They have said that the project could bring up to 3,000 new jobs and 300 new homes.

🎨“Irreplaceable” painting stolen from Oxford found in Romania

A 17th-century Salvator Rosa painting that was stolen from the Christ Church Picture Gallery has been found and returned.

The painting, along with two others that are still to be recovered, were taken by thieves in March 2020, after breaking in via the roof.

Detective Chief Inspector James Mather told a news conference: "Romanian police were contacted by a man in possession of the painting, who'd already sold the other two artworks.

"He chose to return the painting to the authorities when he realised it was stolen, and he's being treated as a witness."

Let’s hope they can no track down the remaining two pieces and bring them safely back to Oxford.
